About the Department of History
The Department of history has been functioning since the inception of the college. It has distinguished itself by its progress, quality and excellence. The faculty and students are role models for the college and many eminent faculty members have enriched its reputation. The prestigious award for three topers in the University examination are instituted in the name of Prof. G Gopakumaran Nair and in his font memory, a memorial lecture is also organized every year The sustained excellence of theDepartmentisreflectedintheresultwhichisalwaysabovetheUniversity average. The Folklore Club functioning in the college is a joint venture of the Departments of History and Malayalam, which organizes programmes in collaboration with the Kerala State Folklore Academy.
