Right to Information

The Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 is an important legislation enacted to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance in public institutions. It empowers students and stakeholders by ensuring access to authentic information and reducing ambiguity in institutional processes. RTI also encourages institutions to maintain systematic records, improve administrative practices, and uphold ethical standards in governance. The presence of an effective RTI mechanism promotes fairness, accountability, and responsible decision-making within the academic environment.

NSS College, Nilamel functions in accordance with the provisions of the RTI Act and ensures access to information relating to the academic and administrative activities of the institution. To facilitate the effective implementation of the Act, the college has designated a State Public Information Officer (SPIO) to receive and process RTI applications and provide the requested information within the prescribed time frame. An Appellate Authority is also constituted to address appeals and grievances related to RTI matters. Information regarding admissions, examinations, courses, infrastructure, financial matters, institutional policies, and other administrative activities may be accessed through the RTI mechanism, subject to the provisions and exemptions specified under the RTI Act, 2005. The institution remains committed to ensuring transparency, ethical administration, and responsible governance through the effective implementation of the Right to Information Act.
